CNA students at Job Corps

In addition to career training, Sierra Nevada Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

High School Equivalency/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at Sierra Nevada Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her high school equivalency (HSE) certificate/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Our center provides instruction to prepare students for the HiSET examination to obtain a state-issued Certificate of High School Equivalency. (Nevada offers multiple pathways to the HSE Certificate including the HiSET, GED2014, and Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) tests.) Students may also complete a standard Nevada diploma through Sierra Nevada High School, the center's fully accredited, state-licensed high school diploma program.
